Baby Sweater/Cardigan

I have been crocheting on and off for the past 20 years and have never made baby clothes. On may vacation in August I went with my mom and sister to Murphys, California. We came across a great little yarn shop called "Maisieblue" as we were looking around at the beautiful yarns my sister came across a great little book called "Cute and Easy Crocheted Baby Clothes" by Nicki Trench. You can access the book on Amazon. Amazon has the book for a great price! I am planning on crocheting at least three or four different projects from the book for the new grandchild.

So back to the sweater/cardigan I made the "Wrapover Cardigan" on page 22.  I used the following yarn:

I used Bernat softee Baby about 7 oz/ 150g of white and 1 1/2 oz /40g of the soft peach. Crochet hook size D (3mm).
The pattern was very easy to follow, I have never made a sweater/cardigan before, so I ended up redoing the sleeves and they came out great the second time. In her book Nicki suggests to have a pencil on had as you are crocheting. This is good advice as patterns  may need a little altering as you crochet.

Ok so here are the pictures of the finished product:

                                                               Front of Cardigan

                                                                Back of  Cardigan

I am happy with how the cardigan came out and am looking forward to making the hat and poncho in the book.
So stay tuned for the next project.
