Free Stocking Ornament Pattern

With the holidays just around the corner, I have been looking for crochet gift and decoration patterns. I found some great patterns on "Pinterest". Since I have been trying out different sock patterns  this great pattern for stocking ornaments was just what I was looking for. You can make these and put them on your tree or you can give them as gift with a little something tucked inside.

The pattern is quick and easy, great for the beginning crocheter. You can find the pattern here. These small socks can be made from your scrap bag!

Here is one in red, white, and blue for those who have a themed christmas tree, or just love the red, white, and blue colors.
All of the socks above were done using James C Brett Top Value yarn, (it is 100% Acrylic, so the socks will be durable and machine washable) and a G (4.25 mm) hook.

And here are some multicolor socks for girls who like bright colors. For these multicolor socks I used a left over skein of Lion Brand Amazing yarn (Mauna Loa) and a G (4.25mm hook) These socks came out softer and will not be as easy to wash, since the yarn is wool and acrylic.
I embellished the socks with buttons and beads to add a little flair.

Each sock measures from the tip of the toe to the top about 5 1/2 inches (14cm) and from the tip of heel to the side 3 inches (7.5 cm)

Since the weather will be changing soon I will be trying out a few scarf patterns next.
