Let me begin this week with a comment on patterns and copyrights. I have been reading on other blogs about the problems that some have encountered with claiming patterns as their own. I have noticed that patterns I have found on websites are the same as patterns published in crochet books years earlier. Crochet has been around for many years, so it is very possible that patterns can be repeated (How is someone to know about every pattern published around the world?).Then there is the question of copyrights in the U.S., Europe, and Asia ???? Is there a universal copyright law? And how long do they last? These are questions I have had over the past year as I began my blog. So, I will do my best to give credit to those who have worked hard to come up with patterns. But we are all human!
With that said let us get to this weeks squares, they are taken from the book "Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs" by Edie Eckman. Her book can be found on Amazon
GS #233-Motif #115 in the book
The long crochets in this square made it hard to keep the square straight and if they are not placed in the right lace the X design in the middle becomes a little off.
GS #234-Motif #116 in the book
Cute flower square that is lacy so it would look nice as a table runner!
GS #235-Motif # 117 in the book
A square that would look great in many different color combinations, I can see it in black with bright color accents.
GS #236-Motif # 118 in the book
This is a dainty square that was easy to make! This is also a square that would be great in many different color combinations!
GS #237-Motif # 119 in the book
The directions for this square were a little complicated to figure out at first but once I did it was a pretty easy square!
GS #238-Motif #120 in the book
This square was made in pieces and then you had to sew them together and add a border. Keeping the pieces straight and in the pattern was a little challenging.
GS #239- Motif #121 in the book
This square has a chain link in it, it is hard to see in the photo. If the square was done in black and white the chain link would show up more. This is very similar to the Square I did back in February.
I hope my comments did not offend anyone, this is just something that I have had questions about, as I search the internet for patterns.
Next week I will be starting a new book for my squares.
I hope you have a great week!
Happy crocheting!
Awesome!!! How many does this make that you have done since the beginning? :(

You've got some new colors this week. Like the vibrant pink and green. Your second block really shouts out! #237 is my favorite. How exciting a new book! Sandi
