GSC Week 44

Here we are in week 44! It seems that the time is ticking by and I have so much crochet to do! I have been working on my granny squares, christmas garlands for gifts, and testing patterns for my daughter who is planning on opening an ETSY shop by the end of this month. She has been writing her own patterns for the last year but has found it hard because there are so many patterns out there. I will keep you posted on her launch date.

So for this week I have done squares from the "99 Granny Squares to Crochet" by Leisure Art. I will be using the book for the next few weeks and by December I will be out searching for some new patterns on the internet.

The colors for this week are light Green, dark green, light purple, and dark purple.

We begin the week off with a hexagon instead of a square!

GS#304 (#67 in the book)

This square is made with double crochets throughout, making it a closed pattern.

GS#305 (#68 in the book)

The cute flower in the middle stands out because it is done in popcorn stitches.

GS#306 (#69 in the book)

This square looks like a sun with extending sun rays in the corners, it would stand out more if it was done in yellow and maybe blue on the outside.

GS#307 (#70 in the book)

This small square was easy and quick to crochet, it is just the right size for a coaster.

GS#308 (#71 in the book)

The dark green in this square makes the center look like a flower!

GS#309 (#72 in the book)

And lastly this week my one of my favorite squares. This square could be done in a variety of colors and would look great!

I know that I have been saying that I would like to use all my squares in projects, but I found out there are some organizations that I could donate them to that will use them to make blankets for people in need. I have found one organization in England and have been looking for one here in the U.S. If anyone knows of one please let me know.

I think by the end of the year I will decide what will happen to all these squares!
I hope you all have a great week!
Happy Crocheting
