GSC Week 50

As the end of the year comes to a close, it is time to look to the next year. What will I do with all of these squares?? I am very thankful that I have two weeks off for winter break. That will give me time to get together with family for the holidays and spend some time looking for projects to do with all of these squares.

The squares for this week are from the book "100 Colorful Granny Squares to Crochet" by Leonie Morgan. I am not sure if I mentioned this but it is a great book and would make a nice gift for the crocheter in your life.

Here are the squares for this week:

GS #345- Stars and Stripes (page 58 in the book)

This cute square would make a great baby blanket for those who like patrotic colors.

GS #346-Bobble Row (page 60 in the book)

This square reminds me of a sweater, the bobble row in the middle made it hard to get this one square.

GS #347- Octagon Tile (page 62 in the book)

When I finished this square it was very out of shape and I thought there would be no way to get it in the shape of a square. I blocked it with a steam iron and it looks pretty good.

GS #348- Simple Waves (page 64 in the book)

This is a different block and was fun to do! It is a mixture of sc, dc, tr, and dtr stitches to make the wave pattern.

GS #349-Back Post (page 66 in the book)

I love the look of this square! It was done with bpdc which helped to give it a braided look.

GS #350-Mitered Flower (page 68 in the book)

This was an easy pattern to do. A bunch of these squares together would make a nice table runner!

GS #351-Eye-popping Lace (page 72 in the book)

The popcorn stitches in this square helps the center to have a 3-d look!

Two more weeks and I will be done with Granny squares!
Hope you enjoyed this weeks squares!
Happy Crocheting
