Granny Squares and Stripes #2

Working on the granny squares and stripes blanket this week has been a challenge, I have been crocheting, tearing out the stitches and rows, and trying many different combinations. So for this week rows of granny stripes were added.
At first my idea was to make the granny stripes in many different colors, but once that was done, it took away from the sunburst granny squares. Then my thought was to do all the granny stripes in one color such as red or purple but again that took away for the sunburst granny squares.
Since the sunburst granny squares are to be the focal point, the nine rows of granny stripes in cream worked out great and does not take away from the colorful granny squares.
Next week I will be adding some more color with some traditional granny squares or more sunburst granny squares.

If you are crocheting along you can find the pattern up to this point here

Thinking about covering some pillows for my next project.

Have a great week!
Happy Crocheting

  1. It's looking great! Love the colorful granny squares in the middle. The tone on tone looks good.

  2. Your sunburst grannies are lovely - I agree the plain border makes the grannies stand out.
