Summer Accessories

I am on vacation this week, but before leaving I made a few summer accessories to wear and wanted to share them with you.

Sun Hat

Everyone needs a sun hat when going to a place where you will spend a lot of time in the sun. I found a great pattern by Drops Designs. The pattern is called Mara and you can find it here. This pattern was pretty easy to follow and the size was just right!

The yarn used for the hat was 2- skeins of Drops Bomull-lin (50 gm) color- 02-off white and a some left over yarn was used to make a finished edging on the brim of the hat. The brim of the hat was floppy, so I added wire to the brim to make it lay flat.

 Summer Vest

The other item that was made for vacation was a vest. I subscribe to the Simply Crochet magazine and found a cute pattern for a vest. Simply Crochet is a magazine from the U.K. and you can subscribe or download it to your iPad each month. This pattern came from issue #19. To find Out about Simply Crochet Magazine go here

The yarn used for the vest was Fibra Natura, Good Earth- color 104-Safari, it took 2 (100 gm) skeins to make the vest. The only thing that was done differently was a few additional rows of hdc were added across the bottom instead of the fringe.
