A Flowery Gift

This week I have started to think about Christmas gifts, yes, the holidays will be here before we know it! If I don't start now it will pass me by! I created a quick and easy gift to give the person who always has to have their keys at hand.

The Flowery Lanyard

The pattern for the Flowery Lanyard can be found here

The stitch used for the lanyard is called a shallow single crochet stitch. It is a stitch that makes a tight fabric because the stitches are close together.

Shallow Single Crochet Stitch

This stitch is done by inserting the hook into the base of the stitch below. (See photos)

As the row is worked, the stitches will look like V's

Once your lanyard reaches 36 inches (914mm), you will need to sew it together and add the flowers.

Sewing the Lanyard together

Fold the lanyard in half, leaving 1 1/2 inches at the end to attach lanyard clip, sew down the end

Slip lanyard clip over the end, fold over enclosing the lanyard clip and sew into place

Now it's time to add the flowers !

Decorate the lanyard with flowers.

Next week I will be joining an around the world blog hop!

Have a great week!
Happy Crocheting
