Before I get into the blog hop questions, let me tell you a
little about my crocheting experience. I have been crocheting for over 25
years.I have always crocheted, but as my three children were growing up I started to explore a variety of other crafts, like quilting and scrapbooking. Three years ago, while searching the Internet, I was drawn back to my love of crochet. I was inspired by all the creative crochet projects out there and how color is being used to update classic patterns like the granny square. I am happy to be back to the craft that I love the most and want to share my love of crochet with as many people as I can.
So now on to the blog hop questions;
What am I currently working?
As the cooler weather approaches I am currently working on different scarf patterns, four weeks ago I released my light and lacy scarf, which will be in
the October issue of Happily Hooked magazine. So stay tuned for some new scarf patterns coming out soon!
Why do I create what I do?
I love seeing something come alive! Taking yarn and making
something to decorate the house or wear is fun. It is a great feeling of
accomplishment to create something from start to finish. I felt really great
completing my 365 granny squares, it was a project that I decided to do in
2013. A granny square a day! It was a great sense of accomplishment to have
made 365 granny square and I was able to use those granny squares to help
others, see blog post here
How does my creative process work?
I have two ways of creating a project, I see a skein of yarn and picture it as a crochet item and begin creating or I find something I want to crochet for the house or as a gift, choose a yarn and begin crocheting. For example, I needed some new chair pads for my dining room chairs so I found a great recycled yarn and came up with a chair pad pattern.
Sadly, I was not able to find any crochet bloggers who would join the blog hop, so I thought I would leave you with a picture of one of my favorites projects that I did when I was about 25. It is a shall that was done with a tiny crochet hook and Aunt Linda’s crochet cotton. My mom had it tucked away in a trunk and gave it back to me a few months ago.
