Zig Zag Heart Scarf

I hope everyone has had a great week! It has been a busy week for me! After my post last week about holiday gifts, I really began to think about making gifts for the holidays. I like to make crochet gifts for the ladies in my office and for the last few years I have made them ornaments, so I decided to make them all a scarf this year. (that will be about 7-8 scarves)

I decided to make all the scarves using my Zig Zag Heart Scarf pattern and different types and colors of yarn. This pattern was first published in the February 2015 issue of Happily Hooked magazine And you can now access the pattern and information for making each scarf here

This is an easy pattern that works up quickly and uses 1 skein (100 g/ 300-400 yds) of yarn. The first Zig Zag Heart Scarf was done in Stylecraft Special DK yarn with 1 skein of # 1123 Claret.

The second scarf was done with my free skein of yarn from Expression Fiber Arts. Last month Expression Fiber Arts was having a special, if you spent a certain amount of money, you would get a free skein of yarn. I was not sure what I would get, but I was very happy with the skein of  Resilient Superwash Merino Sock Yarn called Parrot Feathers, that came in the mail with my order.  I am very happy with the results and love the combination of colors.

I am planning on going to the Crochet and Knitting show for my first time and hope I can find some unique yarns to make the rest of my scarves with.

Have a great week!
Crochet on,
Da
