This is a project in honor of Nelson Mandela, who spent 67 years serving the public and fighting for human rights. The project focuses on providing hand knitted and crocheted blankets for the less fortunate.
The U.S. project group is planning on bringing blankets to Washington D.C. in July 2016 and putting them around the statue of Nelson Mandela. After that they will distribute all the blankets to local charities. This group is committed to bringing 670 blankets to Washington D.C. in 2016 and 6,700 blankets in 2017!
They are looking for people to knit and crochet blankets that are 40"x 50" (Baby) or 50" X 70" (Twin Size), or you can contribute single knitted or crocheted squares that are 10" X 10"
For more information about this project and to find an ambassador near you visit 67 Blankets and don't forget to check out 67 Blankets on Facebook
I see a lot of 10" X 10" granny squares in my future!
Have a Great week!
Crochet on,
Da
