The Crochet Fusion Quilt is complete!
The final step was to add the edging and I wanted to keep the edging simple yet lacy to match the rest of the crochet in the quilt.
Edging Instructions
Begin by making the base row of sc around the entire quilt as follows:
Join yarn to any corner, *3 sc in the corner; sc to the next corner (working 209 sc on the 10 square side and 164 sc on the 8 square side of the quilt); Repeat from * around, join to beginning sc.
Round 1: sl st to the center sc in the corner st, ch 4, dc, ch1, skip the next st, * dc in the next st, ch 1, skip the next st; Repeat from * to the next corner st, dc, ch1, dc, ch1 in the corner st, skip the next st; Repeat from * around the entire quilt, join to 3rd ch of beginning ch-4 (see photo below)
Round 2: Sc, ch 2, sc in the corner ch-1space, * sc, ch 1, sc in the next ch-1 space; Repeat from * to the next corner space, sc, ch 2, sc in the corner ch-1 space; Repeat from * around, join, finish off, weave in ends. (See photo below)
Just a few notes about this Fusion Quilt:
The blanket stitch around each square took a little longer than I anticipated, but it was small enough that you could take it with you.
When you are joining your squares make sure to weave in the ends as you go. ( I waited until the end and it took me a while to weave in all the ends)
I used the videos of other crocheters since they did a great job of explaining the blanket stitch and the method to join the squares.
The finished size of the quilt is 57"x 46" (145cm x 117 cm)

This quilt has been a challenge, but as you can see it was worth all of the time making it! I love to crochet and to quilt, so this was one way I could put cloth and yarn together to make something unique.
