Materials: US Size F (4 mm) crochet hook, Yarn Needle, scissors, tape measure.
Size: 4 ¼ in square (10.7 cm square)
Gauge:
18 sc by 18 rows = 4”
Stitch Guide:
ch(s)- chain(s), sl st–slip stitch, ch-chain,
hdc–half double crochet, dc-double crochet,
tr-treble crochet, st(s)-stitch(es)
Notes:
Ch-3 counts as a st.
Ch-2 counts as a st.
3 dc in a sp= 3 dc cluster
Instructions:
Make a magic circle.
Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as a hdc and ch-2), working in the circle, (hdc, ch 2) 7 times, join to the 2nd ch of ch-4, fasten off- (8 hdc, 8 ch-2 sps).
Rnd 2: Join new yarn to any ch-2 sp, ch 2, tr, hdc in the same sp, ch 1, * hdc, tr, hdc in the next sp, ch1; repeat from * around, join to beginning ch-2, fasten off- (8 ch-2 sps,16 hdc, 8 tr).
Rnd 3: Join new yarn to any ch-1 sp, ch 5 (counts as a hdc and ch-3), * hdc on the next ch-1 sp, ch 3; repeat from * around, join to the 2nd ch of beg ch-5, fasten off- (8 ch-3 sps, 8 hdc).
Rnd 4: Join new yarn to any ch-3 sp, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, in the same sp (corner made), ch 1, (3 dc in the next ch-3 sp, ch 1, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the next ch-3 sp, ch 1) 3 times, 3 dc in the next ch-3 sp, ch 1, join to beginning ch 3, fasten off- (12 dc clusters, 4 ch-2 sps, 8 ch- 1 sps).
Rnd 5: Join yarn in any ch-2 corner sp, ch 4 (counts as hdc and ch-2) , hdc in the same sp, ch 3, (hdc in the next sp, ch 3) 2 times, * hdc, ch 2, hdc in the corner sp, ch 3, (hdc in the next sp, ch 3) 2 times; repeat from * around, join to the 2nd ch of beginning ch-4, fasten off- (4 ch-2 sps, 16 hdc, 12 ch-3 sps).
Rnd 6: Join yarn to any ch-2 corner sp, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in the same sp, ch 1, (3 dc in the next ch 3 sp, ch 1) 3 times, * 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, in the ch-2 corner sp, ch 1, (3 dc in the next ch 3 sp, ch 1) 3 times; repeat from * around, join to beg ch-3, fasten off. (20 dc clusters, 4 ch-2 sps, 16 ch-1 sps).
Weave in ends and block.
